Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, originally from Laois, Ireland, is a world-class orthopaedic-neuro veterinary surgeon.
Noel is the founder of the largest wholly-owned independent veterinary referral centre in the UK, Fitzpatrick Referrals. This comprises two hospitals specialising in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, and regenerative medical & implant technologies, and employs more than 150 people.
Evidence, ethics and efficacy are integral to all endeavours and research from Noel's private veterinary practice is unparalleled and globally recognised. Noel has pioneered more than forty new techniques and many world-firsts. Noel is particularly experienced in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, spinal disc disease, limb deformities, joint replacement, regenerative medicine and limb salvage procedures.
In 2014 Noel and his team at Fitzpatrick Referrals became the subjects of the Channel 4 TV programme The Supervet. The programme explores the importance of the human-animal bond in society and our moral responsibility for animals in the context of advanced medical and surgical care.
