Animal Charity Awards 2018
As the year draws to a close, Petplan, the UK’s most trusted pet insurance provider, and The Association of Dogs and Cats Homes begin nominations for their annual Animal Charity Awards.
Launched in 2013 to celebrate the exceptional work of animal charities and non-profit organisations across the UK, the awards offer recognition for dedication, perseverance and commitment of teams, employees and volunteers.
Animal welfare is at the heart of Petplan, and since our beginnings 41 years ago, we have worked closely with animal rehoming centres and charities nationwide. We have witnessed the remarkable effort which goes into improving animal wellbeing and the Animal Charity Awards gives an opportunity to celebrate those behind the scenes.
Our Head of Sales & Partnerships, James Barnes, sheds light on the support we can give through these awards:
“Through the Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards we’re able to support and recognise the inspiring teams and individuals at charities across the UK who commit themselves to the care of animals. Petplan has awarded over £8 million in grants and works with over 1,200 animal charities across the UK, providing support in a variety of ways to help improve the lives of pets, and we’d like to encourage those who would like to see their local charity be in with a chance of winning, to nominate them today.”
Who: who can be nominated?
The awards are split into three categories:
- Animal Charity Volunteer of the Year
- Animal Charity Employee of the Year
- Animal Charity Team of the Year
Last year’s winners include Muriel Bird, Ali Taylor and Blue Cross, who all demonstrated their dedication to animals over the years. If you know any outstanding cases of charity work, nominate today, and help us recognise the greatness of our animal communities.
How: how are winners selected?
Our judging panel consists of key industry experts who will remain impartial. As key representatives of the animal welfare sector, we are confident that their combined knowledge will choose deserving finalists and winners from all your nominations, recognising both teams and individuals for outstanding achievements.
When: when can you nominate and when are winners announced?
Nominations are now open until the 12th January 2018. They are anonymous and you can nominate for each different category.
After three finalists are chosen from each category in March 2018, they will be invited to attend the awards ceremony taking place on Wednesday 25th April. Here, winners will be announced!
